This is a card I made for an upcoming shoebox swap I am attending with other Stampin' Up demonstrators. It is a new stamp set that is coming out in the new Summer mini catalog. The stamp set is called The Open Sea. I LOVE this set! I can't wait to use it with my New England photos, especially my photos of the Whaling Museum.
I inked the background with the lettering stamp in crumb cake then stamped random images of the anchor and the map in early espresso. I used the new patterned paper that matches this stamp set as a base layer and curled on of the sides up to look like a curled map. I then stamped anchors on not quite navy and stamped the ship image along with the compass and edge the paper so it looks distressed. I used the new bakers twine and wrapped the ship image and the layered anchor image. I then used another new stamp sets words to send the message of adventure!!

Here are the gifts I made for the front desk staff for Administrative Professionals Day. The gift holds a small anti-bacterial gel. It's just "a little somethin'" for them. I used a template that I found online to make the box/holder and then used some coresponding patterned paper to decorate them. I hope they like the gift.

I made this thank you card for our front desk staff at work. Wednesday is Administrative Professionals Day and I wanted to let them all know how appreciated they are. The "thanks" with the flower was cut out using my Cricut machine. I glittered around the flower petals and layered the card in pink and green.

I made this shadow box for a friend who's brother got married. She wanted to have the wedding invitation decorated in some way. I came up with a crab basket and crab mallets to accent the crabs on the invitation. I weaved the basket out of card stock and attached brads and ribbon. I think the basket turned out great, a little more like a Longerberger basket than a crab basket, but I still like how it looks. I bought two crab mallets and split them in half and adhere them down. It is simple but cute.

Here is a Christmas advent calender I made for my friend Tricia. I painted the clothes pins in a metallic green color and used pattern paper for the numbers and images. The clothes pins attach to chicken wire that I stapled to the back of the frame. I "antiqued" the frame by painting it black and then used sandpaper to give it the distressed finish. Of course she loved it!!
